Are you active in Prague?
Are you between 20 and 25 years old? Are you involved in urban social issues OR do you have a strong interest in getting involved with such issues? Are you free for 12 days long workshop in Budapest? Can you communicate your ideas in English? Do you want to meet your counterparts from Bratislava, Budapest and Warsaw? Do you want to take part in an ongoing project aiming to map the urban activism in the four cities? Subject areas include:
- homelessness and housing rights, - migration, - urban community building and organizing, - environmental activism, - HIV/AIDS activism, - human rights, - disability rights, - street art, - participatory planning, - cycling, - guerrilla gardening etc. On
the basis of the workshop an exhibition (“The Right to the city in
East-Central Europe”) in Budapest, CD-ROM, booklet and a website will
be presented. During the workshop there will be lectures focusing on
the topics of urban development in East-Central Europe, theater &
activism, street art & activism, participatory urban planning,
participatory action research, (alternative) tools & avenues of
political participation, and other similar topics. There will also be
round-table discussions, presentation of thematic movies and team-work
in smaller groups.

The
organizing association (Artemisszio Alapitvany/Foundation) covers your
accommodation and board in Budapest during the workshop. On the basis
of your travel tickets the 70% of your travel costs will be reimbursed.
